HEI is a diversified product company in rolling stocks such as wagons of all types, bogies, couplers, draft gears, railway track materials such as cast manganese steel crossings, weldable CMS crossings, heat treated welded crossings, thick web switches, diamond crossings, scissors cross over, steel castings, cables & conductors, insulators, gas-based chemicals, oil field chemicals, and jute products. It has been able to catapult itself into the frontiers of latest technology in each area of its activities through strategic alliances with world leaders and in-house Research & Development.

    HEI's Foundry is one of the largest in the private sector in India. It is the only Indian Foundry which has certification from Association of American Railroads USA for Systems & Products. It has been receiving Export Excellence Award from Government of India for the last nine consecutive years for Steel Castings. HEI's Foundry has exported cast steel bogies to USA, Australia, South Korea, Ukraine and Russia. HEI is the pioneer in introducing Cast Manganese Steel Crossings (Frogs), Asymmetrical Thick Web Switches and High Speed Turnouts in India.

    HEI is also the pioneer in introducing High Speed Container Flat Wagons having supplied more than 60 container rakes under World Bank Project in 1994. With thrust on continuous up gradation of technology and producing world-class quality, HEI expects to sustain its growth and remain in the forefront of pioneering efforts in wagon manufacturing. HEI's Wagon Plants and Foundry are approved under ISO 9001 certification.

   HEI is a recognized Export House. It has developed export markets in USA, Europe, Australia, Far East, Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia and customers have reposed confidence in the capabilities of the respective plants to deliver goods of the required quality. HEI continues its search for newer markets and to bolster its growth at home.
